Consultation built around people, purpose and how spaces truly function.

Rather than approaching projects through a single discipline, our consultation process looks at a potential new space as a whole.

Audio, visual, acoustic, lighting and network considerations are explored together, not in isolation, to allow us to identify where these systems should complement one another and form a coherent environment. To achieve this in each and every build, we begin each project with a consultation process that allows us to understand how a room will be used, who works within it, where attention needs to be focused and where distractions are likely to arise from. These considerations are not often visible on a blueprint but are fundamental to the success of the finished article.

A framework, not a checklist

We take time to understand how a space will be occupied day-to-day, how it may evolve over time, and where flexibility or future-proofing will matter most. In existing buildings, this includes careful consideration of the existing structures and restrictive limitations. In new spaces, or those that are able to be completely reimagined, we aim to understand not just what a client wants to install but what they want a space to do, how it should feel, how people should interact with it and how sound, light and other infrastructures should support the space’s purpose rather than compete with it.

The outcome of our consultation process is not to simply supply a list of recommendations to a client but to refine their ideas, challenge their assumptions of what can be achieved with a space and even identify opportunities that they might have otherwise missed. The depth of our involvement and understanding allows us to deliver a framework that guides an entire project from start to finish as opposed to a short-term, transactional arrangement. As such, for many of our clients, our consultation becomes an ongoing dialogue rather than a single meeting. We are able to support them during the various stages and evolving requirements that come with a build project.

If you’re planning a new space, reworking an existing one, or simply want to understand how the different systems that constitute a project can work together more effectively, our consultation services provide a clear and thoughtful starting point.
